Necessary Arrangements?

Advance Planning?
Or just necessary arrangements?

My dear friend Hugh Bonnell always said:
“Ain’t none of us gettin’ outa this life alive.”
And he was right. He has now gone on to the next one.
We all will. You can call it whatever you want. Death. Passing. Transformation. Molecular rearrangement. Judgment day.
Yada, yada, yada.

At some point, trust me, take this one to the bank, (unless you’ve cut that same deal I have with El Diablo) we will all die. It may happen tomorrow thanks to a drunk driver, or it may happen many years from now, hopefully after you’ve had endless days with your grandchildren, have savored your golden years, and have reached the age at which you’ve simply had enough. Personally, I’m planning for eternity. The realist inside me screams:
“Do it now!”
And so I am investigating my choices.
There are nearly as many ways to handle your final wishes, as there are grains of sand on the beach. Nearly. You can be buried au natural, no preservatives. Dust to dust. You can have your ashes shot into space, if you can afford it!
You can have your ashes mixed in with concrete, formed into cool shapes, and become the building blocks of a coral reef, although I’m not sure I wanna spend eternity submerged, not that I’ll need to breath. You can be pickled, preserved, professionally made-up and dressed, and entombed in an over-priced casket, and sealed in a concrete vault, for somebody to dig up at a later date. We’re digging up people all the time these days. Or you can have your ashes scattered in a place that is special to you. This is what I’m leaning toward.

So if you pay now, exactly how do you know that your final wishes were carried out? Your executor may help, if you have one. But will you ever know for sure? I’m going to have to get back to you on this one. I probably won’t find out ‘til I get there myself, wherever there is.
Where we go from here is anybody’s guess. We all have an opinion or belief about the after-life. I’m not going to write about that here.

What we do know, on a molecular scientific level is this:
The atoms that are in you now will continue to exist. They will unfortunately be in some other form. Don’t sweat it. You can’t do anything about it. “Don’t worry be happy.”

As I am approaching my 500th word of this expose I will begin to wrap it up since my goal is 500 words.

When your time comes, you have choices. You can let somebody else clean up the remains of your life, or you can pre-plan so everything will be as you wish it.
This doesn’t make you a control-freak in my opinion. It’s just necessary arrangements, and it’s also being considerate. So what if a few tears are shed? Just make sure you make a positive difference now!
503 words.

WASHINGTON — Without leaving home, Sarah Palin will be able to reach much of her political base, courtesy of a soon-to-be-built television studio in her living room paid for by her newest media patron, Fox News. From her house in Wasilla, Alaska, Ms. Palin also sends missives to 1.3 million Facebook “fans,” writes newspaper columns, Tweets and signs copies of her book for donors."
